V2C14-Exam Preparations(5) part-1
The moment they noticed me, their faces changed and they stopped their movement.
I watched them whispering to each other a few words before leaving the reading hall.
I suddenly felt a little bit uncomfortable.
A few minutes later, princess Alyssa returned with the teapot: “sorry, I made you wait. Classmate Brock, have a cup too, this is the best black tea from the Lodhran area.”
She sat down in the seat opposite me.
“No, I had the coffee this morning which you gave yesterday.” I looked in the direction of the door, “well, I should now go back.”
“Huh? Back? we just barely started.” she widened her eyes in surprise and felt confused, “that… excuse me, did I do just something that displeased you?”
“No, no, it has nothing to do with you!” I quickly shook my head and denied it.
At this moment, another elf girl stepped into the hall from outside.
After seeing me, she made a similar reaction to the previous two students–looked weirdly in my direction, then turned and walked away.
Princess Alyssa also noticed it.
I directly said: “you saw, I can’t cause inconvenience to other students, so I will first…”
I said this, then closed my book, got up from my seat, and prepared to pack up.
However, princess Alyssa suddenly said: “it’s all right, sit down.”
“No, I better…”
“It’s all right, sit down.” Princess Alyssa smiled.
“But, I can’t just occupy this place …”
“I told you to sit down.” she was still smiling, but there was a sternness in her voice that excluded unusual resolve.
“…” silently, I put my raised butt back on the chair and sat properly.
“…” the princess was still smiling gracefully.
The subtle silence lasted for a long time and then I hesitatingly said, “this is not good.”
“What’s not good?” the princess tilted her head slightly and asked calmly.
“It will cause inconvenience for other students…”
“Did classmate Brock do something that would cause inconvenience to other people? Did you violate the library rules?”
“This… no.”
“Then how are you causing inconvenience to others? I don’t understand”
“You know, I’m sitting here, an orc, and so no other students dare sit in this hall–”
“That’s their business,” the princess said before I could finish my sentence.
I was taken aback.
Princess Alyssa straightened her expression, looked into my eyes, and said “classmate Brock, you are also a student here and have the right to use the library. The seats here are on a first-come, first-serve basis. You have not violated the rules, so there is no problem in sitting here. The other students are reluctant to be in the same room with you which is their personal choice, and you have no reason to accommodate them. Or… are you not willing to sit with me?”
“No, no, no it’s nothing like that!” I shook my head quickly.
“That’s good.” the smile reappeared on her face, “since you don’t want tea, how about a little refreshment? I brought cookies, which I made myself.”
She took out a small wrapped pouch, placed it on the small plate and opened it, then pushed the plate towards me.
Handmade biscuits of varying shapes were placed on the plate.
At this point, if I refuse again it would be a little cruel.
“Thank you, I will not be polite.”
I stretched out my hand, carefully picked a cookie with two fingers that seemed too small for me, and put it in my mouth.
The crispy cookie loosened up in my mouth without much chewing and released the aroma of berries.
“How is it?”
“It’s delicious.” I nodded and answered softly.
“It’s good that it suited your taste.” princess Alyssa said with a smile.
The sweetness of granulated sugar could not be often tasted in the tribe…
