What is going on with that half-elf…

That girl doesn’t feel like a cowardly person and doesn’t seem like a character who would swallow her anger at that kind of thing.

There should be a reason….

“Classmate Brock!”

The sound of the call made me return back to my senses: “Uh, what happened??”

I turned to look at princess Alyssa, who was next to me.

“That… I don’t think it’s appropriate to build the stage without following the design, and…” she  with an unspeakable expression raised her hand and pointed in front of me

I followed the direction she pointed to and was stunned.

A simple fence built with wooden poles surrounded the two drama girls who were sitting on the ground and had been making props.

No matter how I looked at it, it was the animal pen that I used to build in my tribe.

The faces of the two girls inside the fence were full of fear, they hugged together and kept shivering.

“Ah! I’m sorry!” I repeatedly apologized and quickly took down the fence.

“Whoo, whoo, whoo!” the two girls who were freed immediately ran away crying.

“Classmate Kensley, classmate Emma!” Princess Alyssa wasn’t able to stop them.

“Terrible, he actually built a fence to trap people, and is so skilled…”

“The orc’s habit is exactly the same as described in the books.”

“He has accidentally revealed his nature…”

I heard the whispers of several girls who were working not far behind me.

I covered my forehead in annoyance.

Two days before the festival, I came to the auditorium as promised to help the drama club in setting up the stage.

The stage was getting set up smoothly, but I messed it up in the middle.

No matter how distracted I was, it shouldn’t have been to this level… now the impression of me has worsened.

“Classmate Brock, what’s wrong with you? Why do you seem absent-minded?” princess Alyssa looked with worry, “when you were setting up the fence, everyone got scared.”

“Sorry, I was just thinking about something…” I replied vaguely.

“Take a break, we have already done a lot of work,” she advised.

“All right” I followed her advice, put down my tools, stepped aside, and sat down on the wooden box.

Princess Alyssa squatted down and continued the work of the two girl’s half-completed props.

Why do I care so much about that half-elf’s matter…. It’s already been a few days.

These two days eating the barbeque alone felt like something was missing.

Is it because we both are far from our home and also incompatible here, so there was a resonance?

It does feel that way… however, the reason for her situation was different from mine.

With her half-elf blood, some people treat her as their own. It’s not that she couldn’t fit here, but she was unwilling to do so, and obviously kept a distance from other people.

Why stay in this country if you don’t like it? Unlike me who is a  prisoner of war, she should be completely free here.

Was it possible that she couldn’t stay in her original village?

“Classmate Alyssa,” I called the elf princess.

“What happened?” she looked up, and smoothly put the side hair behind her ears.

“I wanted to ask, on the human side, what do they think of half-elves?”

“Are you talking about… classmate Angelica?” she noticed it right away.

“Yes.”

“This, actually… it’s said that Angelica was doing quite well in the human village”

“What?” I was a little surprised.

“Her village is on the edge of the forest of Saidian, and her mother is a respected pharmacist in the village. Even after her mother died, the people in the village seemed to take care of her, in addition, the humans are also friendly to our elves, and I think it is the same for the half-elves too. When I went to pick her up with the border guards and left the village, a lot of people came to see her off.”

That’s right, the elves of Saidian have always been allies of mankind. Even if we put this aside, the elves were known for wisdom and elegance are quite popular and respected among humans. According to this reason, those people would not treat half-elves as completely different.

But this was strange.

“Then why did she agree to come here?”

“No, classmate Brock” princess Alyssa shook her head at me, “it wasn’t that she agreed to come, but she on her initiative asked the elf guard, who had gone to the village by chance. And then the Queen considered her father’s identity, and allowed her to be admitted to the Academy.”

“She came here on her own initiative!?” my eyes widened at the unexpected answer.

This was getting more and more confusing.

“I understand your confusion, even I’ve been wondering about it, but I can’t ask anything from her.” princess Alyssa sighed, “well, .. what’s the matter?”

“Um… I asked her a few days ago if she was being bullied, as a result, things became stiff, and since then I haven’t seen her.”

“So it is like this. I’m sorry, I forced you to do it…“Princess Alyssa bowed her head, then raised again, she looked worried.” Actually, I heard that Angelica is absent today.”

“Absent?”

“Yes, she has shut herself in the dormitory…Ah, I don’t think it is classmate Brock’s fault. Previously also she would do it sometimes like this.”

“I see.”

This girl is so strange.
